Hello there:
Is kinda funny how we are talking about distance and open education by taking a distance education course, there have been a lot of things that I have learned about or reflected to, for example that they are very different but they have the same objective ( to teach)
I learned that having a distance education course can be very challenging for people that don't know anything about technology, distance education is for the students of the future or the old ones that are willing to learn more and to take the responsibility to turn their assignments on time.
I also reflected on how traditional education could dissapear since a computer is needed for everything nowadays, but that would be difficult to imagine, looking at education without the presence of the teacher.
About open education I learn that it takes more time than distance or traditional education because you have to teach yourself and read a lot maybe the whole day to pass your course with only one exam in less time then a traditional one.
Education will always be necessary for our developement, no matter what updates are there because students also change through the years.
